YOUR CAPTAIN

KEEPING THINGS SAFE

Captain Blake Rigby started fishing at age five. “I grew up on a bayou,” he says fondly as he thinks back to that first Zebco reel. “My Uncle Larry took me on my first offshore trip when I was seven years old, and I’ve been hooked ever since.” By the time he turned 10, Blake was fighting and landing 20-pound red snappers from the infamous party boats around Galveston, TX.

Before he could even legally drive, he was prowling the stained Southeast Texas backwaters looking for redfish, flounder and speckled trout. But when pressed, he’ll confess that he’s obsessed with the deep blue waters found when fishing offshore. Even when he doesn’t have a rod in his hand. Blake loves stalking big fish so much that he’s been known to jump overboard (on purpose) during his days off with little more than a spear gun, snorkel, fins and a lot of confidence. As of June 2017, he had broken the world record for spearing the largest Tripletail fish (27.6 lbs).

Yeah, he loves catching fish.

Blake has been both a deckhand and Captain on a 25 Contender and Uncle Larry’s 28 Triton. Now he commands the entire Triple Tail fleet and has fished exclusively out of Venice, Louisiana for the past five years.
